This September: Pledge to Prepare
9/23/2016 (Permalink)
As National Preparedness Day approaches, we are pleased to announce that SERVPRO of East York is joining the Ready Campaign, founded to increase preparedness throughout all communities in the U.S., and taking an active role in helping York County prepare for emergencies.
It means households have an emergency supply kit so they can be self-reliant for at least three days in case of emergency and having a plan for how they will respond and reconnect after an emergency. For information on creating a supply kit and writing a plan, see the Family Emergency Plan template and Emergency Supply Kit checklist. For additional, free resources and information on how you can become prepared, visit Ready.gov.
As you pack away an extra case of water, a few more cans of soup, some spare batteries, and check the date on the fire extinguishers within your home, just remember how important those few actions may be for you and your family in the event of a disaster.
